Introduction

Flying Colours is a complete literacy program for the first three years of primary school. It focuses on the crucial components of teaching literacy: written language, oral language, visual literacy and technology.

Flying Colours Fiction

The fiction books in Flying Colours include high-interest stories with strong storylines. Recurring characters appear throughout the series and children are able to identify these characters instantly. Humorous stories have also been included to help stimulate children’s joy in reading.

Flying Colours Non-Fiction

Flying Colours Non-Fiction incorporates accurate, well-researched information that is thematically linked to key learning areas. A range of text types are presented in each level to ensure that children from an early age are exposed to the different ways texts can be written.

Flying Colours Teachers' Guides

The Flying Colours Teachers’ Guides are based on small group teaching, and also cater for whole-class, guided and independent literacy learning. Four activity sheets for each Flying Colours book are included in the Teachers’ Guides. They cover reading, writing, technology and assessment.
