- Oral Literacy as the precursor to Reading and Writing is an imperative, and continuing as an ongoing focus.
- Guided Reading as a method of teaching reading to children, an internationally preferred approach, along with Guided Writing.

- Oral Literacy as an ongoing component of Literacy (including concepts about print, phonemic awareness and tell/retell)
