This session will review the skills which define a student as being a balanced reader. We will look at how these skills are explicitly taught through all types of genres and understand the literacy demands of Imaginative, Informative and Persuasive texts.
We will explore matching students to text, through the Benchmarking process, which includes the taking of reading records and the full analysis of the recorded reading behaviours.
