Scott Adamson
Scott has an academic background in Education including a Masters' degree in Education (ICT). An award-winning physics teacher, recipient of the Queensland Teacher of the Year in 2011 with over 25 years of experience in Queensland high schools, Scott has occupied various positions in secondary education including School Senior Leadership Team member and Head of Department Science. An educational leader skilled in educational change management, e-Learning and Physics, Scott is a strong education professional who has led significant change in Physics in Queensland. Lead author of the Nelson Cengage QScience Physics series of Student Texts and Workbooks based on the new Australian Curriculum and Queensland Physics syllabus, Scott has authored Physics, Science and Mathematics text series over the past two decades.
Shanee Conran
Shanee is a Chemistry and Physics teacher with experience in the QCAA, IB, BSSS and WACE systems. She has brought her knowledge of question writing and external exams to the team.
Matthew Lourigan
Matthew has an academic background in biochemistry and engineering and is an award-winning physics teacher with over 20 years of experience in Queensland high schools. After working in industry, he has occupied various positions in secondary education including Head of Department and Deputy Principal as well as being a course author and lecturer in science pedagogy in the tertiary sector. Matthew has performed roles for the QCAA over many years and is currently a Lead Endorser for Physics.
Debra Smith
Debra Smith is an experienced Chemistry teacher and author. Debra has been Head of Science at a number of Queensland State High Schools and has been involved in writing science curriculum at the local, state and national levels. She has been President and Treasurer of the Australian Science Teachers Association and is a life member of STAQ. Debra has been the recipient of state and national teaching awards including the 2010 Prime Minister's Prize for Excellence in Science Teaching – Secondary.
Michelle Brown
Michelle Brown studied Applied Science at Queensland University of Technology before working at a private laboratory in Brisbane as a Research Assistant for two years mapping the chromosomes of trees. After completing a Graduate Diploma in Education, she has taught Chemistry, Biology, Science, Mathematics, and Computer studies. She has been teaching Chemistry for over 25 years in both State and Independent schools. Michelle has had extensive experience in a variety of roles for the QCAA over the last 15 years.
Rachel Bond
Rachel Bond is an experienced Chemistry teacher in Queensland, having worked both in the Queensland State and Catholic educational systems. She is currently Curriculum Leader of Science at the Secondary Campus of a Queensland Catholic College and has been heavily involved in the QCAA processes for the current and emerging versions of the Queensland Chemistry Syllabus. She has led Chemistry communities of practice in her local area; has presented at CONASTA - the Australian Science Teachers Association Conference; and is editor for a company producing external Chemistry exam papers for Queensland audiences. She has also been awarded an Academic Scholarship for her Masters Studies of Educational Leadership at the Australian Catholic University.
Wendy Cook
Wendy Cook has been teaching in Science for 24 years. She is currently the Head of Science at an independent School on the Sunshine Coast where she has a focus on developing skills and scientific thinking in students. Wendy has taught in both the UK and Australia including A Level, OP and ATAR Biology. She has written curriculum programs, internal assessment items and had many years of experience as a QCAA Panellist. She is now a QCAA Assessor for Biology.
Louise Munro
Louise is a highly experienced teacher of senior biology and chemistry. Her areas of expertise include molecular biology and biochemistry.
