Overview
Nelson English 10 lays the foundation for transitioning to Senior English subjects by focusing on building and consolidating skills in literacy, literature and language. The texts skills-focused chapters foster the development of core skills in interpreting, responding and creating texts. A range of text types are featured, including novels, Aboriginal Australian texts, speeches, poetry and more, while chapters are engaging by including thematic chapters of travel, childhood, genre and otherness. The student book provides both pre-reading activities to activate and consolidate prior learnings and post-reading tasks to build new abilities aligned to Year 10 English and establish skills for senior courses.
