Stephen Swift has taught Mathematics, Science and Computing in urban and regional schools, and was Head of Mathematics at Wellington Point. State High School. He was the lead author of Nelson QMaths 7–10, Nelson QMaths 11–12 and Nelson Senior Maths 11–12 (Australian Curriculum).
Ross Brodie has worked as a classroom teacher and Mathematics Head of Department at a number of regional and metropolitan secondary schools. He has taught Mathematics at all levels from years 8 to12. Ross brings a wide range of experience from education and other sectors to the writing of Mathematics textbooks – something he has been doing for over twenty years. Ross has significant experience and an ongoing interest in improving the school-to-work transition for secondary students.
Janet Hunter is Head of Mathematics at Ascham School, Edgecliff, where she has spent most of her teaching career of over 30 years. She has been a senior HSC examiner and judge, an HSC Advice Line adviser, and recently co-authored Maths in Focus 12 Mathematics Extension 2.
Jim Green was Head of Mathematics at Trinity Catholic College, Lismore, where he has spent most of his teaching career of over 35 years. He has written HSC examinations and syllabus drafts, composed questions for the Australian Mathematics Competition and recently co-authored Maths in Focus 12 Mathematics Extension 2.
Sue Garner is assistant Head of Mathematics at Ballarat Grammar, specialising in both Mathematical Methods (CAS) and Specialist Mathematics. She has extensive knowledge of CAS calculator technology, and pioneered the first trial of CAS calculators in Ballarat Grammar in Victoria. She has published extensive material for secondary teachers and students of Maths, has lectured at The University of Ballarat and at The University of Melbourne, and has taught students of all secondary levels of Mathematics in Government, Catholic and Independent schools in Australia and in the UK.
