Ken Krachler is the Dean of Business at Canning College and has taught Accounting at TEE, TAFE, and Diploma level (equivalent to 1st Year university) in WA during the past 26 years. For the past 20 years he has provided leadership in Accounting and Finance curriculum in WA through his involvement in the Accounting Syllabus Committee and Accounting and Finance Course of Study Committee being chairperson of these committees at various times. He has also written accounting exam papers and prepared other accounting support material for use by teachers and students in WA.
John Cannon has taught accounting for more than 20 years, at Secondary (years 11 & 12), TAFE and University level to local and international students. He has been involved with the development and implementation of new courses of study for accounting and other business education subjects. For many years he has undertaken the writing and marking of accounting exams and accounting support material. John is a CPA who before becoming a teacher worked in the profession, business and as a part owner of farming and service businesses.
Chris Durrant taught Year 11 and 12 Accounting in WA for 20 years. During that time he was on the Accounting Syllabus Committee and was one of the writers of the Accounting and Finance Course of Study. He was also the co-author of a textbook on the old Accounting courses, and has written numerous exam papers and other accounting support material. Before becoming a teacher, Chris worked for many years in a variety of commercial enterprises as an accountant or manager, and set up and ran his own animal husbandry business.
Alan W Phillips MA BA DipEd has worked across the three secondary sectors in Western Australia. He is currently responsible for Accounting at Wesley College, Perth. His recent Masters studies at Curtin University Business School renewed his interests in the legal under-pinning of financial reporting and the inevitable mandating of matters related to corporate social responsibilities. He is an advocate of computer based processing of data and a leading curriculum renewal practitioner.
