Brett Steeples was a research chemist and lecturer at Manchester University in the UK before becoming a Chemistry teacher. Brett is currently a Lead Confirmer for Physics and HOD Science at an independent girls’ school in Ipswich. He was a member of the Chemistry State review panel and has four years’ experience writing Chemistry exam papers. Brett co-authored the Nelson QCE Chemistry series.
The dot point approach fully covers the content, formula and mandatory practicals in the syllabi.
Breakout boxes provide springboards for investigating Science as a Human Endeavour (SHE), while reinforcing key terms and key formula.
Scaffolds at the end of each unit support the development of the key skills required to complete the mandatory assessment tasks.
Exam practice at the end of each chapter and unit develop exam skills and help students retain knowledge.
