Brett Steeples was a research chemist and lecturer at Manchester University in the UK before becoming a Chemistry teacher. Brett co-authored the Nelson QCE Chemistry series.
Anne Disney is a Physics and Chemistry teacher at Knox Grammar School, with over 25 years’ experience in the New South Wales Independent and Northern Territory Public Education Systems. She was a member of the ACARA Physics Advisory Group during the development of the most recent National Curriculum and is an experienced author of Chemistry resources. Anne was an examination marker and moderator for both Physics and Chemistry whilst teaching in the NT and has held various educational leadership roles in the NT and NSW.
Having been a Science teacher, specialising in Biological Sciences and Human Biology since 2007, Charlotte has a range of experience teaching Science in two Anglican Independent Schools in Perth, Western Australia. She has held Head of Department leadership positions for twelve years and is currently the Head of Science at St Georges Anglican Grammar School in Perth. Charlotte has written digital material for Human Biology Textbooks and has seven years’ experience as a WACE examination marker.
Florence has five years of experience in boys’ and girls’ schools in Queensland, teaching physics, chemistry, and junior science. Before pursuing a career in education, Florence trained as a university medalling chemical engineer at the University of Queensland. This background gives her a unique appreciation of the secondary science curriculum, its place in the STEM learning continuum, and its translation to real world understanding and application. Florence currently teaches at All Hallows’ School and holds a middle leadership position in digital pedagogy.
Sarah Langley studied BSc Applied Psychology and graduated in 2005 with Honours. She went on to complete a PGCE in Religious Education and qualified as a secondary teacher in 2006. She co-authored a research book in 2019 to support the Year 11 WA Psychology syllabus and is the Chair of the STAWA Psychology Teachers Committee, supporting Psychology teachers across WA. Sarah is currently Lead Psychology Teacher and Acting Head of Religion, Philosophy and Ethics faculty at her current school. In 2022 she was awarded the ‘Outstanding Professional Service Award’ by Professional Teaching Council of Western Australia
Ariell has taught Psychology in WA since 2008. A member of the Curriculum Advisory Committee for Psychology, tutor and exam writer for local companies, she has a passion and commitment to engaging students in their learning. She has held leadership positions in the Department of Education including Program Coordinator, Student Outcomes at Sevenoaks Senior College and Principal Consultant (Psychology) at the School Curriculum and Standards Authority.
Dr Celia McNeilly is a scientist and educator with expertise in initiatives to increase Australian First Nations students’ engagement and achievement in science. Celia has held roles at ACARA, the University of Melbourne, Queensland Department of Education and CSIRO where she has worked with First Nations education experts in the selection and development of education resources that represent Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples and perspectives in culturally safe and sensitive ways.
