NEW TO THE COURSE:
Here is a list of new topics and content included in the new syllabus.
Piecewise functions, continuity, the discriminant to classify roots, quadratic identities, products and quotients of functions, applications of functions, semicircles on the y-axis, variation and inverse variation to a power, area of a segment, reciprocal trigonometric ratios, set notation and theory in probability, eg |S|, derivative of exponential function, graphing, frequency, relative frequency, cumulative frequency (precursor to probability distributions).
Sums and differences of functions, concept of polynomials, 3D trigonometry have also been moved into Advanced 11 from the Extension 1 Syllabus.
REMOVED FROM THE COURSE:
Here is a list of new topics and content removed in the new syllabus.
One-to-many mappings, difference quotient. Transformations of functions has also been moved from the Year 12 Syllabus to the Year 11 Syllabus.
Quadratic inequalities have been moved from Advanced into the Maths Extension 1 Syllabus.
