Nelson iScience is an innovative series developed specifically for Years 7 – 10 students studying Science for the Australian Curriculum. The author team consists of experienced and practising teachers who have written this series to meet the requirements of the Australian Curriculum, fully integrating the three strands: Science Inquiry Skills, Science as a Human Behaviour and Science Understanding. This series assists teachers by providing a fully developed program, integrating the latest ICT into teaching practice. By building on students’ already established technological strength, it provides a means to expand upon these skills to assist learning by Inquiring, Creating, Communicating and Collaborating.

Nelson iScience embeds higher order thinking skills within activities and questions to assist students in developing deep thinking strategies and problem solving. This series is a truly 21st Century science resource for students, combining engaging and innovative science in an easy to implement design. Student Activity Manuals are also available to support the Year 7 and Year 8 student books.

Teacher’s Editions

A comprehensive range of teacher resources are available to support the Nelson iScience series, including full-colour teacher's editions of the student books. The Teacher's Editions feature the same content as the Student Book with page-by-page wraparound information to assist teachers with lesson planning and instruction. Advice and practical ideas are provided to help teachers implement the Australian Curriculum.

Nelson iScience Teacher’s Editions also provide support to teachers who are less confident with ICT and additional teaching aids to those who would like to make their classes more engaging and increase student understanding. The book includes student text answers, extension ideas for more capable students and tips for assessment.
